All of the following are examined during an annual visit:

  • Heart
  • Lungs
  • Eyes
  • Ears
  • Skin
  • Mouth

Small Animal Dentistry

Oral care for dogs and cats often goes overlooked, but it is a very important part of your pet’s overall health, and keeping their mouth healthy can help them live longer happier lives. Dental cleanings and/or extractions are often necessary to help maintain good oral health.

Since we can't reasonably expect an animal to refrain from biting us simply because we asked them not to do so, all dental procedures are performed under general anesthesia. The need for extractions is often not detected until the dental procedure is underway and the tartar has been removed from the teeth.

In these cases, we will attempt to call the owner to notify them of how many teeth we expect to extract and why it was determined that they need to be extracted. Antibiotics and pain medications may also be necessary after a dental procedure, depending on the severity of the dental disease and whether there were extractions.

Here are some signs that your pet has oral/dental disease and may need a dental cleaning and/or extractions:

  • Bad breath
  • Loose teeth
  • Tartar accumulation
  • Discoloration of the teeth
  • Sensitivity/shying away when the mouth is touched
  • Drooling
  • Dropping food when eating
  • Bleeding gums
  • Reluctance to eat
  • Weight loss

General Surgery for Your Pet

We are able to perform a variety of surgical procedures including

  • Spay/neuter
  • Tumor/mass removal
  • Exploratory surgery
  • Minor fracture repair and more

We recommend preanesthetic blood work for any pet that will undergo anesthesia for any reason. We provide postoperative pain control to ease any discomfort your pet may experience and to speed up the post-operative recovery process. Most surgery patients are released the same day, but we are able to provide overnight hospitalization and care should the need arise.

Small Animal Radiology

Our clinic is proud to offer digital radiology, which minimizes wait times and provides high-quality radiographic images. This allows your veterinarian to efficiently diagnose your pet's conditions, whether it is a broken bone, foreign object, or other internal health concern.

Small Animal Laser Therapy

We are able to provide K-Laser® therapy for a wide variety of medical issues. Many of our patients have benefited from laser therapy treatments to aid in wound healing, relieve snake bites, improve mobility, and much more.

Cremation Services for Your Beloved Pet

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is an emotional time, and making decisions regarding pet aftercare can be difficult and often overwhelming. Through Precious Pets Cemetery, we are able to offer communal or private cremation services with a variety of custom urn options. We also provide a clay paw print to memorialize your pet. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Barnett and Animal Medical Center. After having great concern for my cat’s health and two previous visits to another Vet clinic, I called Animal Medical Center for an after hours visit. Dr. Barnett called me and was able to meet me at the clinic immediately and began running tests on my cat. She was calm and explained everything thoroughly. The next day, she was off work, but still reached out to check on my cat’s condition. She consulted with another Vet on staff to confirm findings on an x-ray before giving me her professional opinion. I credit my cat’s restored health to her and the team. Pets become such a huge part of the family and I am so grateful for Animal Medical Center’s team and their willing to help my Bo.
